Floor cleaning specialists Numatic held their annual golf day at the Pecanwood Golf and Country Club at Hartbeespoort Dam on 10 October 2013. Numatic’s clients, including big names such as Prestige, KPRG, ITS and FNB, attended the event.

“There were about 150 people at the event, of which 120 were players,” commented Numatic’s sales & marketing manager, Janine Botha. Over the past few years, Numatic decided to tie their annual golf day event with a fund raising initiative for a worthy charity. This year, the company chose Stop Rhino Poaching.

“We had a number of raffles, competitions and games in order to raise money for this innovative charity,” said Botha before adding that Numatic was able to donate ZAR 20 000 to the initiative.

Stop Rhino Poaching, which was launched in 2010 as an independent web-based platform dedicated to raising awareness and support for the war against rhino poaching, is committed to helping protect and conserve rhinos in South Africa. The initiative not only acts as an online reporting system for rhino poaching-related activities (by offering tip-off emails that are routed directly to the SAPS Endangered Species Desk via the website), but they also coordinate and support a number of proactive initiatives such as the training of guards, game rangers and tracker dogs to be used as anti-poaching patrols in the Kruger National Park.

“Numatic is pleased that we were able to host such a great day. Our goal was to give back to not only our clients but also the community, and we feel that anti-rhino poaching projects are a great charity to contribute to,” explained Botha.

“All in all, the golf day was a huge success. The venue was beautiful and everyone had a lot of fun,” concluded Botha.
