Whiterisk House: A vision in white

Located on the south bank of River Cávado in Barcelinhos, Whiterisk House enjoys a wide green landscape immortalised by the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança and the Medieval Tower.

The land is presented in two elevated platforms, supported by high granite walls. In the interest of maintaining the natural surroundings, the architecture honoured the site and its historical legacy. The result is a small housing unit – without speculation or ambition.

Whiterisk House appears as a striped, white concrete block that extends along the lowest platform, combing the two levels to maximise enjoyment of its immense landscape.

The house is flanked by the historical Palace of the Dukes of Bragança and the Medieval Tower of Barcelinhos.
