Safeguard your building against the weather by keeping the outermost layer in a pristine condition.
Apart from being aesthetically pleasing, a building’s walls and roofs need to be completely waterproof. It is especially important to keep the outermost layer in a pristine condition as this part of the structure is continuously exposed to harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, rain, hail and general weather abrasion.
Many roof paints wear down quickly and do not provide sufficient waterproofing to prevent leaks and delamination. Cemcrete’s RoofPaint, however, has been adapted to meet these needs.
This super-durable coating contains mica and silica for maximum film protection against UV light and weather abrasion. It is suitable for application on cement and concrete, as well as on both new and old corrugated iron roofs, serving as a primary waterproofing system.
For additional durability and waterproofing, Roofseal can be added, a membrane system that is easy to apply. It is suitable for use on concrete, bituminous felt, timber, galvanized iron, asbestos cement and foam cement, and is a perfect base for RoofPaint, as it seals the roof and allows the paint to last much longer.
For a flat roof, Cemcrete’s Permastop and Matcrete have been developed as a durable waterproofing system. To prevent or treat rising damp, a combination of SiliconSeal and PermaStop can be used to repair problem areas.
An increasingly popular choice for wall finishing is Cemcrete’s range of wall products on vertical surfaces that is available in a wide range of colours, easy to use and maintain, waterproof and economical. For exterior walls, CemWash and CemCote are the most popular options.
CemWash is applied by block-brush directly onto fair face brick, blockwork, plaster or previously painted surfaces, suitable for both interior and exterior surfaces. Having a Portland cement base, it sets rock-hard, is UV-resistant, economical and extremely durable. Supplied in powder form, it requires mixing on site. It produces a brush-plaster textured finish or bag-wash effect, but can be manipulated to create a unique textured finish. With CemWash the cement’s natural mottling comes through and wears even better over time.
Similarly, CemCote is also supplied in powder form, requiring mixing on site to produce a smooth, flowing coating which sets rock-hard. It can be brushed onto plaster, previously painted surfaces, off-shutter concrete or fair-faced brickwork. With a smoother texture than CemWash, it produces a flowing coating that creates an even finish with subtle colour variations.
Thermoplastic Coating is another tough weatherproof coating option, which contains mica and silica for maximum film protection against ultraviolet light and weather abrasion. It is one of Cemcrete’s easiest application products as it is supplied ready for use and provides a durable, colourful coating for both interior and exterior walls. Being thermoplastic, this coating holds well over fine crazing to prevent water entering the structure. It is especially suited to high-rise structures as an affordable wall finish, where frequent renovations are costly.
