Bold patterns are all the rage this summer, with fun and daring designs creating dynamic focal points in building interiors.
This summer the hottest tile trend is bold, patterned focal points, and according to Johnson Tiles, anything and everything goes. Taking inspiration from the trendy bold patterns that are seen on fashion runways, these are currently very apparent on floor and wall tiles in homes as well as commercial spaces.
The whole idea is to have fun when designing a space with bold patterns. Dynamic designs can be created by incorporating anything from bright colours to funky shapes. Bold patterned tiles can also be combined with rustic or natural tiles to add some character.
To create a focal point in a kitchen, for example, daring patterns on the backsplash can make an impact, or they can be created on feature walls to spruce up any building interior.
“Whether you opt for traditional looking tiles, Moroccan inspired tiles, geometric or other patterned tiles, the key to pulling off this modern look is to mix bold patterned tiles with rustic or natural tiles to create a unique look, packed with character,” says Meghan Kelly, brand manager for Johnson Tiles.
Have it your way
As with fashion, tile designs need to evolve with shifting trends and customer demands, something which Johnson Tiles is geared for.
“Our newly acquired inkjet technology allows us to create the latest on trend tiles, be it for your home, franchises or satellite offices,” she adds.
Johnson Tiles produces various tile sizes and formats besides the standard square tile body. Tiles are produced in large formats and even planks which can be cut to size, or even into geometrical shapes such as octagons for a striking finish.
“You don’t have to be restricted to using one tile shape and size either. Mix and match shapes and sizes for an edgy look,” Kelly suggests.
All Johnson Tiles inkjet products are tested against the Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI) rating system and conform to the highest standards to ensure they are durable.
