Training opportunities to boost flooring installation techniques

“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest,” said Benjamin Franklin, former president and founding father of the United States. Construction chemical company Mapei subscribes to the same ideology and in its over 80 years of existence, has always considered technical training to be a fundamental duty.

“Customer training is a vital component of our offering to market and the company has adopted the same perspective held internationally with our local efforts,” says Tracy Harris, Commercial Manager for Mapei South Africa.

The group aligns the product training it offers to customers with regulatory bodies for the applicable CPD credits, and ensures the training provided brings the most cutting edge knowledge to architects, engineers and applicators alike. Mapei South Africa’s training modules have been accredited by various regulatory bodies such as SAICE (South African Institute of Civil Engineering) and SAIAT (The South African Institute of Architectural Technologists NPC) and delegates are awarded credits for attendance. Some of the training topics include avoiding tiling failures, effective waterproofing, as well as systems and technologies for the restoration of concrete structures, to name a few.

“These accredited sessions are planned and held throughout the year in our state-of-the-art training centre and are open to anyone who wishes to attend,” says Tracy.

Mapei also provides training where the applicators get to work with the products in the demonstration room in its training centre, as well as receive theoretical information from our technical team and product managers. “The best way to learn is to play,” adds Geoffrey Green, Marketing Manager for Mapei.
