In celebration of their 35 years in the industry, Top Carpets and Floors decided to apply some new creativity with a series of curated videos. 

Exciting giveaways to explore SA 

With a national footprint, the aim was to remind the consumer how beautiful South Africa is, while promoting their major product categories. Their national consumer competition prizes therefore offered four luxury getaways to extraordinary places, one each quarter.  

Celebrating life 

The main concept was to show how Top Carpets and Floors are present in so many homes. In collaboration with young and upcoming filming company, Tasty Films, the story of a young family celebrating their baby boy’s first birthday on a carpet, and later his fifth birthday on a laminate floor in their busy family home developed. The result was “Top Carpets and Floors, with you through time”.  

In the second video, the company worked with two local, talented and upcoming actors, Augusta Zietsman (@augustazietsman) and Reginald Hufkie (@reggiepeace). This comical story focussed on what a difference a carpet can make to a home, particularly in a bedroom, creating a comfy, cosy atmosphere, in “Carpets changed our lives”. 

Executing the campaign 

The second part of the production was a set of four bumper ads depicting the different getaway prizes: mountain, bush, coast and karoo. These were aimed at Top Carpets and Floors’ social channels, with a special focus on YouTube, using Google advertising to target the massive South African audience of 25.3 million users.  




The results have been great, but most importantly for the flooring retailer, was the fun and creative thinking that came with the video projects.  

The team at Top Carpets and Floors can’t wait for the next one – all in the spirit of reaching their target market with the right content at the right time and of course the love of their floors.
