Design 

The building was wrapped in RHEINZINK to contrast the 60’s painted face brick of the original structure.

The gated and secure residences are north facing, with high-quality materials and finishes. A distinctive feature is the RHEINZINK roofing and façade. RHEINZINK was specified for the cladding of a third floor, which was expressed as a roof, with balconies piercing the steep roof form. The building is wrapped in RHEINZINK prePATINA bluegrey finish to contrast the 60’s painted face brick of the original structure. “RHEINZINK titanium-zinc develops a beautiful patina over time resulting in a soft visual impact,” explains Eloise Collocott Russell of Field Architecture. It blends in with the aesthetic design of the development, which includes granite walled courtyards, by expert stone masons, and a Balau privacy screen and pergolas. 

“Stephen Wilkinson, from Wilkinson Architectural Metals provided valuable technical support, samples and recommended a highly qualified roofing contractor for the project’s RHEINZINK cladding,” says Russell. 

Sustainability 

Balconies pierce the steep roof form that is clad in RHEINZINK

New aluminium doors and windows insulate the houses against the weather and noise. Borehole water ensures water for the communal areas and gardens in both the communal spaces and for the townhouses. 

Colour and shade are provided through lush painted gardens with bougainvillea trees. 

An exclusive estate features a distinctive facade and roofing, installed by a master craftsman.
