As a designer or architect, one of the most significant decisions you will be faced with when buying engineered wood flooring is the type of finish to use. Not only does this have a huge impact on the aesthetics, it also influences the level of maintenance and care the floor will need.
While it is possible to purchase unfinished engineered wood with the option to have it finished after installation, Jax Oleum offers an in house, prefinished, prior to installation option which has many advantages. The prefinished flooring is factory oiled according to precise specifications in a controlled environment, giving a more uniform finish with the correct amount of oil applied to the timber. The fact that the floor is prefinished allows installation after all contractors have left the site reducing the risk of damage to the floor.
Jax Oleum gives clients the option to have their unfinished engineered wood flooring pre-oiled in the company’s workshop prior to installation via their state-of-the-art oiling machine and under the watchful eye of their technical experts. During this process, the unfinished wood is passed through machines where oil is evenly applied and the wood is buffed multiple times, ensuring a more even colour spread on the timber. The wood is then inspected and stacked on a drying rack to cure properly before been packed and sent to you.
