Artic Insulation supplies Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing solutions to the South African market.
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing systems provide many benefits to the built environment. The two most prominent benefits, however, are related to waterproofing and insulation.
Artic Insulation is an affiliate to Artic Driers International the company was formed in 2013 to provide a professional on-site SPF coating service in South Africa. Artic Insulation has the capacity to spray up to 800m² a day from a Graco E30 series reactor and pumping unit. The rig is mounted in a ten-ton truck and is one of the largest spray rigs in South Africa. The company offers internal and external polyurethane and polyurea sprayed coatings for industrial and domestic applications.
The high insulation value of SPF
Polyurethane Foam has been used as a maintenance roofing medium for over 35 years. The foam adds excellent insulation value to the structure and the client’s electricity bills reflect the energy that is saved by installing this roofing medium.
Another benefit of this product is that it lasts a long time. Periodic cleaning and overcoating ensures a life span of up to 50 years (even longer, in some cases).
Waterproofing solutions- using Polyurea and Polyurethane
Polyurea is a great waterproofing solution thanks to the coatings, linings and joint sealant technology that can be applied over concrete and steel. Polyurea also has tremendous advantages when used for joint fill and chalk applications due to its fast setting, high elongation and durability characteristics.
Polyurea can be applied seamlessly, moulded and shaped by spraying it into moulds. Similarly, polyurea is also used as a hard coat protective shell over expanded polystyrene (EPS) for architectural moulded fascia applications.
The experts at Artic Insulation warn that polyuria cannot solve imperfect design in structures and prefer an involvement in the project design phase. It should be specified and installed in conjunction with appropriate surface preparation and primers, correct manufacturer’s material formulation, correct equipment, quality control inspection and by trained applicators.
