Industry professionals can expose themselves to lessons in tech, creativity and mindset at the Catalyst Africa 2019 event, set to take place from 30 to 31 October 2019 at Cape Town’s Portswood Ridge Precinct in the V&A Waterfront.
Understanding the Fourth Industrial Revolution
As most professionals are well aware, we are entering the world’s Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), with many changes expected to take place over the next few years. This year, the Catalyst Africa event is focused on equipping South African companies and individuals with the skills necessary to harness the opportunities available in the new world of 4IR, as well as to overcome the many challenges that are sure to present themselves along the way.
“We are facilitating the national conversation around Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies into one of building a growth mindset, igniting positive change and sharing knowledge amongst thinkers and doers,” says Roy Harman, co-founder of Catalyst Africa.
What to expect
The event will be organised in multiple session formats, which makes it possible for attendees to choose their own experience and decide what kind of educational content they would like to open themselves up to on both days.
All workshops and presentations will be run by leaders from world-class educational institutions, successful business people and leading technical experts from companies and establishments including the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, Amazon Web Services, Friends of Design and D-School.
“The most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together. Our concern is with the actual doing or use of knowledge, rather than with theory and ideas that leave attendees of typical events feeling helpless,” says Dale Imerman, co-founder of Catalyst Africa.
