Synthetic multi-sports surface for school

With the highly anticipated return to sporting fixtures, schoolchildren from Centurion’s Laerskool Wierdapark can look forward to playing on a newly installed synthetic multi surface which aims to cater for all their sporting and leisure needs.

Space saving surface

Replacing the grass on the existing netball and hockey field, the newly installed Rhino-Turf MT15 sports surface provides the school with a space-saving facility, offering a synthetic surface where not only hockey, tennis and netball can be enjoyed, but that also functions as a play area for children during break time.

High wearing surface

Installed by Turftech, the Rhino-Turf MT15 synthetic multi-sports surface is an improvement on the existing fields which struggled under regular foot traffic. Unlike traditional hard courts that have to be resurfaced every two to three years, the Turftech multi-sport-facility only needs upgrading every 8 to 10 years.

Value added surface

By maximising the existing space, which is always at a premium, the school will be able to host value-driven tournaments while exposing pupils to a wider variety of sporting codes. Pupils will be able to practice for longer, whether it has rained or not, while enjoying more consistent ball roll and play, speeding up the game. Requiring no cutting or fertiliser, the surface offers many years of hassle-free enjoyment.

Water wise surface

In our water-scarce country, there is the added advantage of not having to water the surface. Turftech installed a drainage system to ensure water drains off the pitch as quickly as possible, together with a high-end, customised fencing system for player and spectator safety.

Multiuse surface

“The pupils and staff love the area and parents have been particularly impressed with the professional look it creates, said Laerskool Wierdapark’s principal, Louis Dekker. “Having quite a limited space meant that we needed something that could accommodate many sporting codes.”

Turftech’s experience in sporting facility installations is showing the way to low maintenance and cost saving through its variety of quality playing surfaces that can be used all year round.
