Two architects, Axel Schoenert and Zsofia Varnagy, decided to build their own villa/refuge on four hectares of land overlooking a pine forest approximately 15 minutes from Ibiza. The architects focused the style of Cotto d’Este using of shapes and nuances that perfectly harmonise with the surrounding nature and chose the villa’s precious indoor and outdoor surfaces perfectly.
The colours of the space are warm and neutral with beige, taupe and light grey matching the chosen materials such as wood, stone and glass that were selected to reflect and respect the atmosphere of the island.
The finishes were chosen from the Cluny collection, which features Pietra di Borgogna in five colours, ranging from charcoal grey to a bright magnolia. Selected in the Argerot Layè version, Clunyè was used in the 75×75 cm format for the flooring that surrounds the large outdoor pool. The Layé finish offers a strong grip even on wet floors, making it perfect for the outdoors. Inside the villa, Argerot Sablé was used, as this surface offers a uniform aesthetic and is softer to the touch.
