Supporting the local built industry for over 50 years
TAL, a division of Norcros SA, has been a trusted manufacturer and supplier of the highest quality materials to the construction industry for more than 50 years. From modest beginnings in the 1960s, the company has become a market leader in the South African tile adhesive market with production facilities in three provinces.
For over half a century, TAL has worked with local tilers to develop products which meet the changing needs of the South African contracts market. Besides converting the market from sand and cement fixing to using specialised tile adhesives, TAL also pioneered rapid-set technology in tile adhesives and developed self-levelling screeds in response to feedback from installers and applicators. “We work with our customers across the built industry to develop world-class products underpinned by local know-how that are specifically compatible with the harsh South African climatic conditions”, explains Marius Botha, TAL Senior Operations Manager and 33-year veteran of the company.
The company has also made in-roads into the construction chemicals market, offering the same local knowledge and focus to develop and manufacture reliable solutions for their customers. TAL’s trusted range of tile adhesives, grout and waterproofing materials, as well as their range of specialised functional and decorative floor coatings and construction chemicals are manufactured and tested in accordance with the most stringent standards of quality and performance.
TAL products are manufactured and tested to TAL procedures which are maintained in accordance with Quality System Standard ISO 9001:2015, Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO 45001:2018. The TAL laboratory is an ISO 17025:2017 accredited testing facility for 1348:2017 (Tensile Adhesive Strength of Cementitious Adhesives). “We are looking forward to the next 50 years and are committed to continue delivering innovative solutions to local challenges, for our customers” concludes Botha.
