Kirk has a stairnosing for all types of flooring, including tiles, laminate floors, wood, luxury vinyl planks, screeds, sheet vinyl and carpets. There are stairnosing types that suit retro-fitting and others that are fitted during the laying of the floor, such as tile-in stairnosing.

If the desired aesthetic is the minimum sightline look and feel, then the stairnosing should be laid in-situ. With Tile-in options, which are available in stainless steel, aluminium and brass, there is also zero chance of the stairnosing becoming a trip hazard.

To protect the edge of the steps in concrete, screed, sheet vinyl, carpet and other continuous wet lay floors, retro-fit stairnosing is used. This type of stairnosing is sometimes a SABS standard requirement or is used because of the pedestrian traffic expected on the stairs.

Kirk’s stairnosing is also available in PVC, a combination of aluminium and PVC/Rubber, aluminium and non-slip strips, as well as non-slip luminescence strips. The aluminium and PVC/non-slip combinations are available in black, grey and brown. Plain aluminium stairnosing can be anodised into different colours.

For heavy duty industrial applications, Kirk recommends their stairnosing made from galvanised steel, stainless steel, and grit of varying coarseness. These stairnosings are endorsed for use in areas where grease, dust, dirt, liquids, oil and fat are present.
