Corobrik recently launched a new iPhone app that makes specifying and building with bricks easy.
More South Africans have access to mobile phones than clean water. Not only does this change the way that people communicate, but it also changes the way in which people do business.
Corobrik recently launched a tablet app for the specification and application of its bricks and pavers. The interactive app, which is available from iTunes, gives construction and design professionals access to the expertise of Corobrik at their fingertips.
The number of features offered will appeal to people working on a construction site. They include a notebook section where relevant project information can be filed and accessed, as well as a weather forecaster to help them plan build days. The app also features a pocket manual with technical information regarding foundations, surface beds, waterproofing, compliance and other key areas that building professionals would be interested in.
There is also a brick matcher that helps select the Corobrik brick to match a photograph of bricks that you like giving available stock with a convenient store locator to find the closest branch. A brick calculator will determine how many bricks required. A gallery filled with inspiring brick ideas offers ideas to the prospective builder.
The app is compatible with the iPhone and Android phones and will shortly be available on iPad.
Corobrik’s director of marketing, Peter Kidger, says that using the available technology to make life easier and more efficient in this day and age makes a lot of sense. “We envision that the primary users of the Corobrik app will be builders and paving contractors, although it should also prove to be a useful tool, both in the office and on site, for architects, quantity surveyors and others working in the building industry,” concludes Kidger.
