As Leonardo da Vinci once noted: “Geometry is the foundation of all architecture.” Ceramic manufacturer Decocer specialises in the design and manufacture of small-size, custom-made ceramic tiles in a wide range of sizes and unique geometries and finishes, including hexagons, feathers, trapezoids, rhombuses and the picket or stake, among others.

Seabird feathers

One of the more unusual tiles is shaped like seabird feathers. As with picket-shaped tiles, they are designed to fit together so that continuous patterns and designs can be created, allowing for infinite, elegant and diverse combinations.

On trend hexagons

The use of hexagons is trending in interior design today, and Decocer has several collections, finishes and sizes. Create pictures and patterns by combining different shades. For example, the company has hexagon tiles with 3D volume which can be combined with flat pieces. By mixing and matching the two finishes, murals full of life and movement can be designed, for either housing or retail spaces.

Rectangular pieces create herringbones

Special designs can be achieved with the humble rectangular tile, depending on its placement and size. Normally rectangular tiles are placed horizontally or vertically, but the herringbone pattern, which follows a zigzag pattern, brings uniqueness and enriching movement to the spaces.

This pattern is very striking, particularly if different shades are combined in the same design. Sizes range from elongated formats in 50mm x 500mm, to the smallest of 50mm x 150mm, which are customisable and can be adapted to the creative needs of each project.

Classic bevelled tiles

A unique variant to the rectangular tile is these with a bevelled edge, better known as subway or metro tiles, due to their use in the subway tunnels of big cities. These can be used in a wide variety of applications, in different sizes and finishes.

Simple squares

The square-shaped tile is the most traditional, easy to install and adapts to any room. It is a simple and symmetrical shape, which fits perfectly with both classic and contemporary styles.

Decocer offers these in a range of sizes and a wide selection of colours, graphics and finishes. The conventional look is to use a single colour but combining tiles with different graphics or colours can create visually interesting layouts.

Issue: Creating visual interest on tiled walls.
Solution: Play with a wide range of different geometric tiles to create incredible designs and unique combinations.
