A leading frozen food producer recently required the existing 4000m² concrete floor of their frozen food preparation area to be effectively prepared for the installation of a 4mm self-levelling system. This was to fall in line with food safety protocols and deliver a dust-free and temperature-controlled flooring solution.
The expertise of Diamond Products was brought in ensure the specified food safety protocols for this area were met. After close consultation, they recommended vacuum blasting – more commonly known as shot blasting – as the best solution.
The floor was prepared using the Blastrac 1-10DPS75 380V shot blaster that has a work rate of up to 120m²/hour and operates in conjunction with the Blastrac DP-1330 dust collector, which with its closed-loop recirculation abilities, ensured complete dust control and low surface-level noise.
The 4000m² concrete floor was successfully prepared in line with the required food safety protocols and client’s specifications, ensuring that the prescribed 4mm self-levelling could be installed within the required timeline.
