This was the core theme at the Pretoria Institute for Architecture’s Idea Conference 2017, which was held on 30 and 31 May at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria, where design professionals and architects explored synergies across the different disciplines of design.
With a wide range of speakers tackling topics ranging from branding, advertising, photography, performing arts, art and sculpting, design and architecture to even a magic, the audience’s creative minds were in overdrive.
Futurist Dave Nemeth also shed some light on the latest developments in design, fashion and the way trends should be interpreted and applied, leaving the audience to decide how the design world can influence architecture.
Inspiring exceptional design
Through the biannual Idea Design Conference, exciting designs and design philosophies are brought to the public. According to the Pretoria Institute for Architecture (PIA), the event is an excellent opportunity for designers, built environment professionals and creative-minded individuals to garner inspiration from leading South African creative talent.
“This event demonstrates how a community of design-minded individuals is built and creates an opportunity for them to gather every two years at an entertaining, inspiring and enjoyable event,” the PIA comments.
