Architecture and Interior Design Awards place the focus on innovative ceramic tile installations manufactured in Spain.
The 13th Tile of Spain Awards of Architecture and Interior Design competition is being launched by The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association (ASCER) and the panel of judges will comprise prominent national and international professionals.
ASCER is of the opinion that more and more often acclaimed professionals are choosing ceramic tiles in some of their most significant works. In recent years, the competition has awarded prizes to a wide range of projects, recognising the versatility of this material.
Previous projects to receive awards include Remodelling Work on la Riera de la Salut, Casa Luz – a single family home in Cilleros, the Spanish Pavilion in Expo Zaragoza in Spain (2008) and in the Aichi Expo in Japan (2005), to name but a few.
Registration is currently open and the deadline for entering projects is 28 October 2014. There is a prize of 39 000 Euros that is divided into three categories. The two main categories are Architecture and Interior Design, with each award offering 17 000 Euros.
In order to participate, all projects submitted must make use of ceramic tiles manufactured in Spain. The third category is referred to as the Degree Project category and is aimed at students of Architecture and offers an award of 5 000 Euros.
Application forms along with rules can be found on the website www.tileofspainawards.com, as well as information regarding current and previous awards.
