Retro

Tile trends at Cevisama and Revestir 2025 included a harmonious blend of nostalgia and innovation, with a resurgence of retro-inspired tile designs.

This trend emphasises craftsmanship, sustainability and a return to timeless patterns by merging nostalgic elements with contemporary aesthetics.

It reflects a desire to reconnect with the past while embracing modern sensibilities.

Trends

Art Deco and geometric patterns

Art Deco and 1970s designs feature minimalist geometric patterns and organic textures abound, mixing and matching traditional designs in small square-format tiles to create unique patterns.

At Revestir, Cuesa’s retro collection features 15x15cm tiles with 1970s-inspired patterns

In this regard, mosaic tiles have experienced a resurgence. Strufaldi’s Renaissance Ceramic Mosaic Collection presented at Revestir pays homage to the era in which art flourished, bringing new light to human creativity and aesthetic splendour.

Modern

Retro patterns get a modern twist in a muted palette.

Colour and design

Earthy terracotta hues blend with artisanal finishes to evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. The colours evoke sentimental comfort and bring joy into spaces.

At Cevisama, Apavisa showcased traditional wood parquet designs blended with modern combinations of cement and stone patterns.

Manufacturers at both shows presented tiles inspired by natural elements, such as stone and wood, emphasising sustainability.

Calming, nature-inspired patterns are showcased in soft, muted tones inspired by earth, sand and water.

Retro meets contemporary

Incorporating retro-inspired floor tiles into modern interiors involves balancing nostalgic elements with current design sensibilities. Muted colour palettes and natural materials combine to create a cohesive and timeless aesthetic.

earthy tones

Atlas showcased the warm, earthy tones of terracotta at Revestir, presented in different tile shapes.

Techniques such as tile drenching enhance the retro vibe while maintaining a modern look, with walls and floors covered with the same tile pattern.
