Coverland, in collaboration with the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA), is excited to announce the Coverland Roof Tile Award for Excellence: 2025 Regional Awards. 

Launched last year, the sub-award forms part of the 2025/26 Corobrik SAIA Award of Merit and Award for Excellence in partnership with Coverland.  

The award aims to reward projects that show exceptional application of concrete roof tiles in aspects such as aesthetics and creativity. 

Regional submissions 

“We encourage SAIA members to enter their architectural building projects showcasing concrete roof tiles as part of the regional submissions,” says Willem Grove, marketing manager of Coverland.  

Entries for the national award form part of the standard regional award submissions. The overall winners get the chance to attend the World Architecture Festival (WAF) 2026, with compliments of Coverland.  

The overall winners of the 2025/26 Coverland Roof Tile Award for Excellence get the chance to attend WAF2026.

Entry requirements 

Valid submissions are for projects completed from 1 January 2023 until 31 December 2024. Entries are open to all concrete roof tile manufacturers and not exclusively to Coverland roof tiles.  

Please note that clay tile roofs do not qualify for entries for this award. Projects in planning are also not accepted.  

The winning entry from the 2023/2024 Coverland Roof Tile Award for Excellence, Additions to the Calling Academy by Salt Architects.
