Project Review: Trans-Africa Projects

Inspyre Work Spaces recently completed two new offices for Trans-Africa Projects. The offices are located in the Allandale Building at 23 Magma Crescent in the prestigious Waterfall Precinct in Gauteng and the end result is befitting of a company that offers forward-thinking power and engineering design solutions in South Africa.

Regan Muller, lead interior architect at Inspyre Work Spaces who managed the project, says the client had been in their premises for 12 years and they wanted to explore what was available in terms of new spaces. Part of the brief was that they would only consider moving to a new location if it could significantly reduce their operating costs while simultaneously enhancing their work environment and brand image. They were also interested in a move towards an eco-friendlier building.

Sourcing the location and redesigning the interiors with existing furniture
As part of the solution, Regan and the team at Inspyre Work Spaces rationalised the space that Trans-Africa Projects used and upgraded their corporate image. The building that Inspyre Work Spaces found for the company had all the latest technologies and energy saving systems for lighting, cooling and water savings. The design team also managed to eliminate as much waste as possible by reusing the client’s existing furniture pieces for the new offices.

Belgotex Floors carpet ranges were specified for the offices. The affordability, sustainability and ease of maintenance were major drawing points for Inspyre Projects and the customer support that Belgotex offers sealed the deal.

A total of 2 500 square meters of Belgotex flooring products were specified for the Trans-Africa Project. The Fringe range was used in the executive areas, with the Herringbone Design being chosen for the boardrooms and executive meeting spaces on the first floor. The Diagonal Design was used for the upstairs offices. Belgotex’s Davenport Vinyl Flooring was installed throughout the reception areas, the sick room and the canteen.

Advice, after care and support is key for designers
Customer service is a large focus point for Belgotex and is something that many of their clients comment on. Regan says that Belgotex Floors went above and beyond to make sure that the colours and designs she envisioned for this project were brought to life.

“As with any flooring supplier, minimum quantities are needed to create bespoke designs. Belgotex went out of their way to help make sure that my team and I were able to meet the quotas while achieving the exact colour combinations and designs that we wanted for the various areas,” says Regan.

Another reason for continuously specifying products from Belgotex Floors is the after care and support that Belgotex offers.

“Belgotex is always prepared help out if something doesn’t go according to plan. In today’s working environment within our country, where so many suppliers are based overseas or are simply not able to give the on-site technical expertise that designers need, this type of support goes a long way,” concludes Regan.
