The system is in place for large construction, maintenance and renovation projects.

Comprehensive service

To take advantage of the benefits, the value of the paint purchase needs to exceed R200 000 in total and the contractor needs to be a Plascon preferred applicator. “We are involved from inception to completion, making sure the right coating system is specified according to the environment and condition of the building substrates,” explains Plascon’s professional market manager, Carol Ras. Plascon will also assist with colour renderings, wet samples and A4 brush-outs to make colour selection easier.

Benchmarking on site

Part of this comprehensive service involves selecting a reference area as a benchmark for the project. “A reference area is identified as the most exposed facade or area on a building; and is monitored and documented by a Plascon representative – taking into account temperatures, the moisture content of the substrate and the film thickness of the coatings,” explains Ras.

Quality assurance

Plascon’s 360° Partnership Pledge is a joint quality assurance by Plascon for the coating system and the preferred applicator for workmanship. Plascon undertakes to conduct site visits as part of its joint supervision programme.
