Shaw Contract Group recently launched a new tile and broadloom collection called Beyond the Fold. The tiles offer depth and dimension thanks to their pleats, angles and interlocking sections.
Reesie Duncan, the company’s Creative Director, explains Beyond the Fold is an evolution of their Edge collection.
“The tiles employ origami techniques and take inspiration from architecturally constructed forms. Beyond The Fold allows you to define an edge while carrying colour and pattern throughout the space,” comments Duncan.
The product line includes folded tile, a 24 oz. (680 grams) tile that offers pleated dimension and folded details. Folded tile is available in 16 colours (8 with neutral folded in and 8 with colour folded in). Folded edge tile, a 24 oz. (680 grams) product, features symmetrical folding to create an edge of colour, available in 16 colours (8 with a neutral edge and 8 with a colour edge).
If the designer wants to expand the area between patterns, Expand tile is the essential texture in this product line that can be used. Expand tile, which can also be used alone, is 22 oz. (624 grams) and is available in 8 colours. At 26 oz. (737 grams), angle tile is an architecturally constructed design forming angular movement, scored geometry and dimension throughout the space. Available in 8 colours, this product gives you the ability to exaggerate the three-dimensional quality of the space thanks to its unique tip shear finish.
Colour plank tile is a 22 oz. (624 grams) solid offered in 29 colours. Beyond the Fold also offers a broadloom option, namely Slide. This 42 oz/y2 (1424 g/m2) carpet showcases bold, linear stripes. Slide is available in 8 bright colours that transform the visual element into sharp diagonals and revealing new patterns.
