Collection highlights how vibrant colours other than grey can be used successfully in flooring.

In April, Shaw Contract Group and PentaFloor showcased a series of carpet collections with an array of beautiful colour options. The fashion event was held at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. “Live” models presented different coloured carpet options in front of an audience of over 50 designers who were invited to attend the event.

The event focused on five key collections and guests were also the first to see the new Vertical Layers and Hexagon collections. Malibongwe Tyilo, Editor at large of VISI Magazine, guided guests through the design story and colour option of each collection. While colour was the theme of the show, the Shaw sustainability credentials were also highlighted as all carpets presented were Silver Cradle to Cradle accredited and fully recyclable.

“When we look down and think about the design of carpets, it’s easy to forget about colour design,” says Malibongwe. “Grey always seems to be preferred. Today we have witnessed the way well designed colour options and integration can improve a space whilst being sustainable”.
