The Southern African Vinyls Association, (SAVA) welcomes its new 2024/2025 Chairman, Richard Black.
Experienced leader
The managing director (MD) of Elco Plastics, Black is well-qualified in the field of business management with a master’s degree in people management from the University of Cape Town. He has been with the company since 2007, with roles in quality, human resources, general management and now MD for the leading PVC compounder.
Strategy and experience
During his time at the Cape Town based company, Black has plated integral role in the strategic direction of the business. His strong administrative and leadership skills coupled with more than 17 years’ experience of the vinyls industry, has set the tone for the business to grow from strength to strength.
Black has served on the management committee of SAVA on numerous occasions, and the association is pleased to announce his appointment as chair. He will be leading the rest of the team consisting of Wessel Oelofse (Mpact Versapak), Alistair Calder (Sun Ace SA), Rishi Madho (Sasol), Michael Dickens (Isegen SA), Sanet Cilliers (Omya Idwala) and Monique Hinds (CEO).
