The Patisserie Collection is a contemporary collection of ceramic tiles and objects designed by Studio Yellowdot, a design studio and creative consultancy.  

The collection celebrates the ingredients and ceramics’ production process, from clay mixing, forming and firing to the final glazing – unlocking the beauty and magic of each step to create a delightful collection featuring handmade three-dimensional tiles, as well as bespoke stools, tables, lighting, vases and art murals. 

Pastry inspiration 

A range of colourful ceramic donuts was born after Studio Yellowdot visited Gorbon Tiles’ Istanbul workshop.

Upon invitation to visit the Gorbon Tiles’ workshop in Istanbul by the third-generation owner, Orhan Gorbon, the designer duo of Bodin Hon and Dilara Kan was mesmerised by the production process and endless selection of colourful samples, which instantly reminded them of a pastry kitchen. 

Working closely with the dedicated team of artisans and craftsmen, they took inspiration from this colourful world of pastries to experiment with ceramics. It resulted in a variety of new forming techniques, unique handmade textures and playful shapes such as donuts, biscuits and eclairs in soft and inviting pastel tones to create a collection of bespoke ceramics with the irresistible allure of pastries.

Gorbon Tiles blends Anatolian and Turkish craftsmanship with contemporary design to deliver beautiful ceramics products. It proudly states that it has played with clay since 1957. The Gorbon Istanbul workshop invites collaboration and bespoke projects from international designers, artists and brands.
