The collection is 100% ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn made from recovered waste materials such as discarded fishing nets and carpet yarn from the manufacturing facility’s carpet recycling centre. In cases where acoustics is not a requirement, the tiles can be ordered without the SoundMaster backing, making the tile 100% recyclable.

DESSO Mode is also available with a 100% recyclable DESSO EcoBase® backing, which in 2015 achieved Cradle to Cradle® Gold level certification and reached Platinum level for Material Health.

Ambiance and acoustics
In hospitality environments, ambience is everything and acoustics play their part in this. Different zones require subtle adjustments to the flooring to keep sound levels from becoming overwhelming. For this reason, SoundMaster® Lite backing is offered as standard, improving acoustics for added comfort. This felt backing is made from 100% Polyester (80% recycled) and is specifically chosen for its advanced sound insulation and absorption properties.
