New sales representative for Media in Africa Group
Meet Wanita Wallace, who is the new sales representative at the Media in Africa Group, covering both Floors and Walls & Roofs magazines. She has over 16 years’ experience in the media and publishing industry, encompassing everything from distribution, production and advertising sales to editing and journalism.
Wanita has an advanced diploma in journalism from the London School of Journalism, a certificate in sub-editing from The Institute of Advancement for Journalism, a certificate in copywriting from the SA Writers College, and has also completed a course in digital marketing at Red & Yellow School (Certified by the University of Stellenbosch Business School).
During her years in B2B publishing and journalism, she has test-driven and reviewed motor vehicles, interviewed the dean of a business school, interviewed a well-known physics professor and written on a diverse range of interesting topics.
Trading in her skills at selling stories, Wanita has gained vast knowledge of advertising sales, and this is where her passion truly lies. She is known for being tenacious and as someone who doesn’t easily let go, which can be seen in the way that she cares about her clients and their needs. “Wanita brings a strong focus not just on advertising sales, but really getting the client’s message into the market and consulting with client as to the best way to be marketing their brand.” Says Marlene van Rooyen.
She is married, has one daughter and is an avid foodie, who can be found in the kitchen spending her spare time coming up with tasty new recipes and cooking for family and friends.
Keeping her on her toes, because they constantly want snacks, are her two adorable Welsh Pembroke Corgis named Harry and Sally, as well as two cats named Deek, who thinks he is a snow leopard, and Pumpkin, the newest edition.
Welcome to the team, Wanita!
