The first edition of Affordable Housing Investment Summit endorsed by the State Department of Housing and Urban Development,an initiative by GBB venture, is all set to take place at the Radisson Blu, Nairobi, Kenya on 26-27 June, 2019.
In the recent times, Africa has seen tremendous potential in terms of being a real estate hot spot with 40.6% of foreign investment directed towards the construction and hospitality sectors. With rising challenges in the affordable housing sector in Africa, AHIS aims to bring together a global network of investors and developers, Government Bodies, Financial Consultants, REITs, Private Equity Firms, Project Owners, Architects and Solution Providers to initiate a meaningful dialogue around affordable housing through dissemination of information with latest trends in the affordable housing sector, opportunities and assist major stakeholders and developers in addressing administrative and financial challenges.
One of the key highlights at the AHIS is the B2B meetings between investors and developers that fosters a strong relationship and provides networking opportunities. Affordable Housing Investment Summit has identified two primary areas that need immediate attention in Africa. The Managing Director of GBB, Ravi K Chandran says , “A substantial inflow of investments for the affordable housing sector could alleviate the situation with a diligent reassessment of the housing and finance sector of Africa. Secondly, we believe that a tangible, realistic, scalable solution to have qualified players in the market will facilitate in scaling up affordable houses in Africa.”
