Local fruit juice plant receives a fast track flooring solution

Approximately 450m² of BASF’s Ucrete® UD 200 was installed at the Sir Juice factory in Johannesburg. Sir Juice’s South African manufacturing and distributing factory in Johannesburg required a new floor with stringent specifications, due to an old epoxy screed system that had deteriorated over time because of the high levels of acidity in the fruit juice extraction process.

Based on the requirements for the Johannesburg factory, the same product that was used at the Durban factory was specified, the Master Builders Solutions’ product, Ucrete*. The contractor installed approximately 450m² of Ucrete UD 200, a heavy-duty polyurethane concrete overlay system. The Ucrete UD 200 was fitted in a phased work schedule at 6mm thickness with Ucrete SC Primer.

The contractor had to complete the job within a tight schedule, while ensuring the highest quality standards. Ucrete is known for being fast curing, non-slip under wet conditions, impact resistant, non-tainting and resistant to a wide range of chemicals. This hard wearing and durable product is a long-term solution for companies operating in the food and beverage industry.

The completed project at Sir Juice was inspected after a year and the client was elated with the rate of return on their processing plant and how the project was fast tracked by using Ucrete.
