The lack of imports due to Covid-19 has highlighted the market need for a local balustrade system, which not only offered an aesthetically pleasing design and extremely competitively priced, but was easy to install, and available in a range of colours to offer a wide variety of design alternatives to both architects and specifiers.
Alsysco SA heeded the call and in the latter part of 2020, they proudly introduced their new Crystal Balustrade System range.
Brad Pepper, director of Alsysco SA, explains: “We took on the challenge to design and develop a glass balustrade system by capitalising on aluminium’s weight advantage, whilst still achieving and exceeding the required SANS design loading requirements.”
The Crystal Balustrade System range incorporates clear toughened glass infill panels, offering uninterrupted views with no vertical steel supports or structure. This system is commonly used on balconies, staircases and double-volume areas.
It is also an ideal solution for swimming pool fencing, as it meets with the SANS regulations for height restrictions at pools.
Apart from its unique design features, there is a further advantage for fabricators and installers. Since the system is lightweight, it allows for larger loads to site, is easier to carry and simpler to install. The Crystal Balustrade System range requires no on-site welding and requires only a basic set of tools to complete a successful installation.
“Our range of purpose-made handrail profiles is also available in the same range of colours and finishes, along with all the required hardware and fittings for a hassle-free installation,” added Pepper.
