The Media in Africa management recently decided to revamp their offices to bring it on trend. For the design and to create the space they wanted, they called on Nimrod Design, who had designed the look and feel for the offices five years earlier.
They were chosen to come on board because of their expert skills in interior design and the varying commercial projects they had under their belt. Nicole Maguire and Celia Marussi helped the management to bring various elements together to create the right office atmosphere. Nimrod Design strives to offer a superior service that exceeds clients’ expectations with respect to design, aesthetics and budget, as well as project implementation.
Their full turnkey service offers good value interiors and space planning based on the needs and wants of the client. Efficient space utilisation is their prime concern, while they always delight and inspire with the freshness of their approach. This is supported by responsible budget and logistics management, and the enthusiasm of a highly motivated team.
The design brief called for a light and airy space with a fresh feel that reflected the happy nature of the company. Nimrod was tasked with designing a space that catered for the company’s ever-changing needs, whilst at the same time being attractive to the mostly female staff complement: a space where people want to work and have fun, a space that the company can be proud of.
To implement the project, they called in the help of various specialists in the industry to create a look that would display the company’s true colours and reflect their culture.
Marlene van Rooyen, editor of Walls & Roofs, one of the publications in the dynamic Media in Africa group, says it was important for the company to create a welcoming reception area that displays the company’s achievements, awards and certificates on entry into the offices, and to create an area where visitors could sit and relax, while also stimulating the flow of creative juices for the office team.
“Nimrod created a beautiful story board and our suppliers were wonderful with their advice and with the installation of the materials. Everyone who visits the offices loves the décor. It’s also very important for staff productivity and enjoyment to work in a pleasant and beautiful working environment,” she says.
Partitions were used to create extra space, including the Think Tank – an area that will be used for brainstorm sessions. The management team selected various patterned wallpapers in black and white offset by complementary wall colours and a block-patterned carpet to create a fresh and lively space. Each of the offices has a feature wall colour and a wallpapered wall to personalise the space.
Van Rooyen wants to thank Nimrod Design for their expertise and knowledge to create the perfect office space that suits all the needs of everyone from employees to management and leaves a lasting impression on visitors and clients.
She also extends her appreciation to Ergosystems, with Dean Armstrong and his team that was responsible for the partitioning throughout the offices. Desso Floors supplied the carpets and Peter Bates installed it. Home Fabrics supplied the wallpaper and Versus Paints as well as Cedar Paints supplied the paints.
