Nestled amid six acres of lush green land in Jaipur, a 22,000-sqft holiday home has been transformed into a serene haven of art, glamour and exclusive luxury by Beyond Designs, in collaboration with the late architect, Lt. Pradeep Sachdeva. The traditional bones of the home meet richly crafted contemporary interiors, where classic and modern elements brush shoulders.
The main residence is spread across two storeys, featuring seven en suite bedrooms and a powder room, whilst the adjacent structure by the pool houses the bar and library. Sachin Gupta and Neha Gupta, the founder and interior designer duo, give their signature maximalist style a new twist by setting a clean, neutral backdrop for the eclectic collection of materials and influences in the home.
A main attraction of the home is an eye-catching curation of artworks, while accessories sourced from around the world add diverse moods – from elegant to playful and quirky.
Wall colours define the mood in this home. The double-heighted living room is airy with a white palette, showcasing a vibrant selection of these artworks, while furniture and soft furnishings add colour, character and warmth. A rich composition is on display where earthy notes set off opulent accents in the formal living area, and a dark sophisticated wall treatment adds intimacy to the family lounge.
Highly detailed and raw wooden panelling in the family lounge and dining rooms offers a sober backdrop to the rich tapestry of colours. Crystal and brass lights crown the dining space over a table, which is a work of art by itself. The furniture, lights, wall panels and mirrors, specially crafted in-house by Beyond Designs, give shape to the unique vision of the designers for the expansive holiday home.
As in all their projects, the bar is the pièce de résistance, where style and glamour are taken to a new level. Wooden stacking doors and shutters open onto the pool and interleading rooms.
True to their style, the designers mix materials, textures and finishes to create a refreshing and uplifting symphony of diverse styles. In the library, colourful patterned wallpaper is offset by rich wood tones, leather and rattan textures.
The bedrooms are more contemporary, decorated with modern artworks and some classical touches such as the horizontal striped wallpaper on the son’s bedroom wall. Paint colours throughout the home range from nude to sophisticated hues.
The exteriors also see an eclectic fusion of materials and styles. Wooden pillars and sloped roofs are reminiscent of southern architecture, and exposed wood ceilings define both indoor and outdoor spaces. Large stone sculptures strewn across the landscape bring the design scheme together for a home that is full of character.
