Cersaie, the world’s leading surfaces event, recently showcased the world’s latest and finest surface trends. There were a record 91 296 visitors across five days at the 39^th event.Sustainability is without a doubt the keyword and the current movement.

• Wallpaper prints: For the past two years, wallpaper designs have been a popular trend. Cersaie proved that tiles can do it better with their advanced digital printing techniques. These large-format porcelain tiles can be installed looking like a seamless wallpaper effect without worrying about water, heat, or sun damage. It is way more durable and practical.

• Green: Popular greens bringing us closer to nature include sage, soft eucalyptus shades, richer marbles, metallics, and matt stone, which have magical hues and graphic representations and are available in any size. Italtile stocks a wide range of greens such as Mint Bevelled Mini Subway Mosaics and Aria Green Gloss Glazed Ceramic Wall Tiles.

• Pastels: Blush pink and light blue. New neutrals, aka Newtrals, are on the rise. These include colours such as soft lavenders, pale blues, shell pinks, tender lilacs, and sage. • Vein-cut Travertine: A new aesthetic, with incredibly realistic graphic detail that mimics travertine stone cut in the same direction as the vein.

• The Mini Brick: With brilliant techniques that flaunt the versatility of mini-subways and mini bricks, creating diagonal, vertical, and herringbone feature walls with exquisite beauty.

• Wooden Slats: a new trend used to clad bathroom vanities and other furniture.

• The 2cm Paver: Italtile has curated a select range of 2cm tiles with high slip resistance and a high breaking load, such as their exclusive Plus Amstel Antracita range. Due to fuel shortages (gas is used in the firing process), pavers were only available in 120 x 120 and 60 x120 sizes. • Oversized Mirrors: the funkier the better and can be backlit with smart LED lighting as a feature across the board.
