International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) celebrate World Interiors Day.
The International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) and its global community will celebrate World Interiors Day 2014 on 31 May.
This annual event was designed to showcase interior architecture/design. The event itself engages professionals, national organisations, design enthusiasts and the general public to explore creativity, imagination, vision and passion in relation to the role of interiors in society, culture and future built environments.
‘Design Matters’ was chosen as this year’s theme to promote the role that design plays as a medium for positive change.
The month of May also plays host to events planned by individuals and presented all over the world, linked by a common theme chosen each year to reflect the values of not only IFI but the industry as a whole.
International industry players can get involved with a range of activities that can include: Working with local government to proclaim the last Saturday in May as World Interiors Day; Open door programmes that allow architects/designers to showcase interiors to the public; Opening your practice and inviting the public into a professional space; Free student practice day allowing students to work in design studios for a day; Exhibitions and art events; Lectures, talks and discussions; and Working with educators to engage children in a range of creative, practical and fun activities and experiences.
IFI is interested to know how you are celebrating this important day around the world, so send them your topics, events, posters and pictures to email@example.com
