A South African interior design/architecture expert is set to receive the IFI Fellowship Award in Malaysia.
Professor Desmond Geoffrey Laubscher, Director and Past President of The South African Institute of the Interior Design Professions (IID), received a IFI Fellowship award from the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at their 26th General Assembly.
The IFI was founded in 1963 as the global voice and authority for professional Interior Architects/Designers. Today, 50 years later, it is considered the only international federating body that brings together Interior Architecture/Design organisations and the expanded community to further influence and positively impact the design of interiors; to promote global social responsibility while raising the status of the discipline and profession worldwide.
In this special inaugural year, The IFI Fellowship Awards recognised and acknowledged exemplary international achievements within this profession and honoured those who lead, connect, inspire, enrich and influence the interior architecture/design industry in outstanding and unique ways.
As such, Prof. Des Laubscher was publicly acknowledged for the Fellowship at this year’s IFI Awards Gala. As the only registered body representing the interior design industry in South Africa and a member of the IFI since its inception, the IID takes great pride in announcing this prestigious award bestowed on Prof. Laubscher.
