Blending seamlessly with its sloped terrain, GM House harmonises modern design with the beauty of the landscape.
Located in Campinas, Brazil, GM House was conceived for a young family on a remarkably distinctive plot of land with an intriguing topography.
Taking advantage of a slope that offers stunning views, the house rests horizontally on the contours of the terrain and flows below the street level.

Hollow elements allow for the creation of gardens and terraces, strengthening the integration between the house and the landscaping.
Design inspiration
GM House is designed by Padovani Arquitetos, a Brazilian architecture and design office. It weaves its narrative with lines that seek to express personality with simplicity, establishing an intense dialogue with nature.
By investigating the best technical response, in harmony with conceptual poetics and client needs, they produce unique designs in a ritual that is repeated in every detail.

A void between the social and intimate blocks delineates the main entrance.
A life below
Located slightly below the street level, the house has a single access point on a continuous plateau. A void between the social and intimate blocks delineates the main entrance.

The composition of both social and intimate volumes under the expansive metal roof emphasises the horizontality of the project.
This spacious central void, covered by a floating metal structure, connects and unifies the residence. The composition of both social and intimate volumes under the expansive metal roof emphasises the horizontality of the project.
Natural materials such as bricks, stone and warm-toned wood complement aluminium panels, balancing aesthetics and coziness.
House and landscape
The hollow elements and cut-outs in the roofs allow for the creation of gardens and terraces, strengthening the integration between the house and the landscaping. Thus, the residence is configured as a harmonious fusion of architecture and landscape.

Padovani seeks to express personality with simplicity, establishing an intense dialogue with nature in its designs.
Padovani Arquitetos believes that each function developed here contributes in a fundamental way to guaranteeing a final result of excellence. The design is not only a physical space, but also an experience for those who inhabit and interact with the designed work.
