Why Greentag?

Global GreenTag is one of the world’s most widely recognised ecolabels. It is independent, and it has earned the reputation and trust of thousands of buyers and hundreds of companies. It is recognised by numerous certification bodies, governments and green building councils around the world, including the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA).

Certification criteria

Products are assessed using one of two certification programmes that use the world’s best scientific methods. The final score incorporates ratings for:

  • Greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Health and ecotoxicity.
  • Biodiversity.
  • Synergy (the extent to which products are made more efficient).
  • Lifecycle analysis.
  • Social responsibility and labour conditions.

Sustainability goals

Besides offering excellent building materials, one of Siniat’s main priorities is to ensure that its products are not harmful to people and the environment. Attaining Greentag certification confirms that its products meet international standards for sustainability.

This certification makes it easier for specifiers and consumers to recognise which products are eco-friendly, and to what extent. Organisations like Greentag have restored consumer trust in the green marketplace, and Siniat is proud to carry the label.
