To reduce unwanted noise while at the same time insulating a building, Den Braven recommends two green sealants for the job.
Offering two environmentally friendly options to soundproof a building, Den Braven Green-Foam and Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound has been developed to greatly improve acoustics in a building as well as contribute to airtight structures.
Den Braven Green-Foam is a flexible, high-insulating, polyurethane foam especially developed for use around window and door frames, construction joints and partition walls, as well as surface penetrations of pipes and tubes through walls and floors. It is also 100% free of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).
With very good thermal insulation and acoustic values that facilitate sound insulation, Den Braven boasts that its Green-Foam is the most airtight foam available. It provides an effective barrier to moisture while allowing water vapour to migrate through the foam.
Green-Foam has excellent adhesion to concrete, brick, stone, plaster, wood, metal and many plastics. It is especially suitable for connection between plaster blocks and bricks.
Ideal for use during the construction of offices, conference rooms, hotels, recording studios and high-density residences, it can be painted or coated with plaster or a suitable acrylic sealant.
Another sustainable solution, Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound, reduces both airborne and impact noise in a building. It has been independently tested for minimal environmental impact and is proven to reduce the amount of sound transmission between rooms.
It can be used on interior walls, floors and ceiling assemblies, on two or more sheets of commonly specified building materials, however, one of these sheets must be porous. The Green Glue Noiseproofing Compound is quick to apply with an applicator gun, with no measuring and minimal trowelling.
Both of these products comply with the standards of the Green Building Council of South Africa.
