Floors EXPO 2021 – another insightful event

Building and Décor’s Floors EXPO took place on 31 March 2021 as a totally digital event. Thanks once again to all the sponsors and speakers, especially platinum sponsor a.b.e. Construction Chemicals, for being part of this hugely successful event.

Flooring guru Peter Jones, a.b.e. Construction Chemicals’ National Product Segment Specialist: Flooring, took the opportunity to present their revolutionary new QuickFloor system to the market. This extremely fast curing system is suitable for the most demanding and time-sensitive applications and has been specifically designed for hospital flooring, food and beverage plants, retail shops and public amenities where a strong need for hygienic and durable flooring systems is required.

Guy Park, HOD Raised Flooring from KABC Flooring introduced the audience to InstaCradle, a revolutionary raised flooring solution made from 100% recycled used truck tires. Guy showcased InstaCradle’s benefits and how it was used with great success in a recent project to correct the undulation of existing flooring to allow for a completely new installation and repurposing of the client’s space.

Kirk Marketing shared their product range aimed at the specification, contractor and retail markets. They highlighted how their various product solutions in their 10-brand range are uniquely designed and developed to be fit-for-purpose. Of particular interest to the specifiers’ market was Kirk’s unique specifiers product file, which is a comprehensive library of all Kirk’s ranges, and is available free of charge to all specifiers.

Janet van Zyl (Director) and Monique Brits (Sales & Marketing Manager) from Samson Technologies shared their concrete flooring solutions. They demonstrated how they have restructured the 40-year business to keep abreast of the industry by introducing user-friendly technology to improve the performance and application of concrete. Elements such as light reflectivity and abrasion resistance as well as improving the aesthetics of concrete flooring provided lots of food for thought.

Hugh Krog (Commercial Sales Manager) and Gary Bothma (Sales Director) from Traviata hosted the audience to a walk through their showroom, where they highlighted their top selling products as well as showcased their latest product ranges and styles. As importers and wholesalers of commercial and residential products, Traviata has been offering an extensive range of the best in laminates and vinyl for the past 14-years.

The participants enjoyed the bumper-packed Expo filled with the latest news and innovations from the South African Flooring market.

Marlene concluded by saying, “This year’s event once again demonstrates the product excellence and expertise within the Flooring Industry, and we call on all our participants to support and share the offerings of all of our sponsors today.”
