Floor tile trends on display at Cersaie 2024

tile trends

The Italian tile manufacturers presented a broad range of floor tiles at Cersaie 2024, with something for everyone.

This curated pictorial explores some of the trends, which are more akin to explorations within existing popular designs.

Tracking the trends

Wood-look tiles get a splash of colour, while stone patterns play with hyper-realism in the detailing.

Modern manufacturing techniques encourage the development of three-dimensional patterns to delicate touchable textures.

Colours are intense, ranging from natural terracotta to biophilic greens. The size trend sits on both sides of the range, with both small- and large-format tiles finding their place.

Wood forever

Wood remains popular, as a staple look in floor tiles. Newer options range from oak tones to darker hues, and wood effects washed in blues and greens.

Stone styling

Passion for pattern

The rising trend is of patterns that add depth, a sensation of movement and a sophisticated touch for surfaces throughout the home.

Tile technologies from Cersaie

Colorobbia specialises in the production of raw materials products for the ceramics industry and presented exciting new technologies for glazing.

The Italian multinational corporation offered solutions that allow customers to digitally generate reliefs and micro-reliefs in perfect synchrony with the design, without sacrificing the properties of the finished piece.

Low emission inks

The AIR Evolution series of inks minimise the environmental impact while maintaining all their performance during the decoration and firing processes. This series includes a set of water-based digital glues that ensure the reduction of harmful emissions and odours.

Ultra-low silica

In the segment of large formats/living areas (tops/tables/panels etc.), Colorobbia presented new surface finishes and full-body options. The formulations are distinguished by less than 2% free silica, high colourability, 3D effects and customised designs with veins.

Forma Plus

Consisting of three product families, all fully compatible with each other, allowing for the creation of textural effects and reliefs before and/or after digital decoration. These include:
