Power Flooring & décor offers an expert flooring installation, repair and refinishing service. The company proudly installed laminate flooring at an auction house in Durban. This formed part of a broader, four-month refurbishment project when the auctioneer moved into a new space in the upper levels of a shopping centre.  

Project challenges 

As one of the final finishes, the 560m² flooring installation was scheduled for the end of the project period. The space was a tricky one for a flooring installation, with angled walls in both offices and passages, turns and offset walls. This required careful planning in the layout to ensure a seamless flow throughout. 

Loadshedding was another challenge on site that the team managed to work around.

Teamwork 

Upon inspection, the substrate within the new office space was found to be level, which was a great start for the installation team. In order to provide a fast-track installation, Power Flooring hired additional staff for the project. Together with the in-house laminate fitting team, the complex installation was completed within two weeks. 

“We finished the project in record time,” says Juanita Mc Carthy, owner of Power Flooring & décor. “The team working on site made a huge difference. The project would not have been a success without them all.”

Egger laminate flooring 8/32 in a classic wooden board look was supplied by Azura Distributors for the project, in the colour Amiens Oak Light. A vibrant laminate in a vintage style, Amiens Oak Light ensured a warm, natural look. 

The product is sustainably produced with wood from regional, certified forestry and is 100% PVC-free. Its’ low maintenance and antibacterial surface is classified fit for use in all heavy residential applications, and general commercial applications i.e. public areas with normal use.
