Gyproc® has expanded its decorative and acoustic ceilings range with new Rigitone® Edge. The product forms part of the Rigitone® range, manufactured in France.  

This range enhances creativity and contributes to the design of liveable, comfortable spaces such as offices, hotels, restaurants, schools, healthcare establishments and shopping centres. 

Easy installation 

Rigitone® Edge is practical, quicker and easier to install. The new chamfered edge allows panels to be installed edge-to-edge without the need for a panel spacer*.  

It also reduces the consumption of Rigitone® Mix for joint filling. Clearly visible blue indicators on the width ensure that the panels are installed the right way round.  

During production, the four edges are sanded and primed** directly, saving time during jobsite preparation. 

These features provide a 10% time saving compared to a straight-edged panel. The edges of Rigitone® Edge are also impact-resistant, ensuring that the panel is better protected and can be installed even if damaged on the jobsite.

Acoustic comfort 

Easily identifiable by its unique chamfered design, Rigitone® Edge optimises acoustic comfort by optimising speech clarity (intelligibility). Its acoustic performance achieves absorption up to αw = 0,9***, thanks to the acoustic tissue glued to the back of the product. 

This solution reduces background noise, creating welcoming spaces that are conducive to work and concentration. 

Clean air 

The indoor air quality has direct consequences on occupant health and well-being. Rigitone® Edge prioritises indoor air quality (IAQ) and occupant well-being by incorporating Activ’Air® technology.  

Designed to last up to 50 years, it neutralises up to 70% of formaldehydes in the ambient air. 

The range offers five different designs. 

Aesthetics 

The range allows for creativity, offering five designs with multiple combinations possible through various perforation styles – regular, random, alternated, square or round.

* Accessory for positioning straight-edged panels in relation to each other and keeping a 3 mm centreline distance for jointing without it being visible once installation is complete. 

** Protective layer applied to the edge of the panel to block the porosity of the plaster, encouraging the adhesion of the Rigitone® Mix filler.
