Pelican Systems products and brands used to create these strikingly beautiful baffle ceilings designed to reduce noise levels in the Shelly Beach Shopping Centre.
The innovative baffle ceilings in the Shelly Beach Shopping Centre create striking focal points while significantly reducing background noise levels and sound reverberation within the open spaces.
Specified for these reasons by Architects, Boogertman + Partners, the ceilingmaterials were supplied by Pelican Systems, and installed by Fast Track Shopfitters.
Pelican Systems’ Richard Fenton explains that in large, noisy environments such as shopping centres, restaurants and other open-plan areas, free-hanging units can be installed where acoustical treatment is needed in order to achieve suitable conditions for communication, concentration or recovery (hospitals).
“Baffle ceilings create unique room atmospheres. These open ceiling constructions impress with outstanding acoustics and the impressive possibilities of room layout. The free space between the baffles is optimally suited for the integration of luminaires, sprinklers, ventilation systems or the like,” he says.
“Baffle ceilings are also suitable for belated installations to correct acoustical problems with concrete ceilings and to create a distinctive design,” he adds.
Local quality
Pelican Systems’ prefabricated bulkheads promise high quality and consistency together with savings in terms of time, labour and wastage. “Whether choosing from a standard or custom design, you can be sure of a consistently superior finish matched with the strength of solid reinforcement,” states Fenton.
Pelican Systems is able to supply high-quality interior solutions for both the residential and commercial markets, and takes great pride in being able to service both large- and small-scale projects without compromising on the level of detail, commitment and passion.
