Described as the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings, Domotex 2024 kicked off the business year in January 2024. Hosted in Hannover, Germany, the show has bounced back since the pandemic, with visitors from 140 countries visiting the 1 000 exhibitors, of which 69% were international companies.  

What was on offer? 

Speakers from the fields of architecture, interior design, the skilled trades, politics, associations, trade and trend scouts presented the latest market developments and trend topics. See the TRENDagentur, Gabriela Kaiser’s, six trends for 2025. 

Domotex once again focussed on the megatrends of sustainability and circular economy. Visitors were able to experience the keynote theme, “Floored by Nature”, in particular at The Green Collection. 

The agenda also included presentations of the Carpet Design Award, EUCA (European Carpet Importers Association) Award and Green Collection Awards. 

Going vertical 

For the first time, products for walls and ceilings were presented, as visitors need to consider spaces as a whole to create a coherent interior design. Domotex therefore partnered with Décor Union and Mega to include paint varnishes, wallpapers and more interior finishes. This value-added “Retailers’ Park” has received much interest in the visitor survey and will be expanded in the future.  

The next Domotex – Carpets & Rugs will take place on 16 to 19 January 2025 in Hannover.
