The successful show and numerous exchanges that DOMOTEX had with exhibitors and the market showed that its carpets and rugs segment in particular needs an annual presentation platform which brings together all suppliers and buyers, with DOMOTEX in Hannover offering the ideal platform.
Both worlds coming together
The flooring sector, with longer innovation cycles, would like to see DOMOTEX every two years as the industry’s’ main platform.
Therefore, both worlds will be brought together in Hannover in future in a model with rotating focuses, the date remaining as it is in January:
- In the even years, “DOMOTEX – Home of Flooring” will comprehensively unite the entire field of hard floor coverings and related goods as well as carpets and rugs.
- In the odd-numbered years, “DOMOTEX – Carpets & Rugs” will feature exhibitors from the range of hand-made carpets and machine-made carpets and rugs.
Range of events
In addition to the main event at the Hannover exhibition grounds, DOMOTEX Asia/CHINAFLOOR in Shanghai and DOMOTEX Turkey in Gaziantep (depending on the developments in the region after the earthquake) will complete the range of events.
In numerous conversations with buyers, who are the industry’s key visitors, it became clear that there is a preference of central supplier platforms and no additional trade fairs. In the discussions, there was clear support for DOMOTEX in Hannover.
There are currently no further activities in Turkey. Deutsche Messe AG will not plan or stage a carpet expo in Istanbul.
