WAF

Hosted annually, the World Architecture Festival (WAF) gives global recognition and celebrates projects across the globe.

It is the largest global live awards event for architects and designers. Projects are submitted across completed buildings, future projects, landscapes and interiors.

WAF 2023

The 2023 awards were hosted in Singapore, for the first time since 2015. The 140 judges, representing 68 countries, recognised projects in 33 categories ranging from residential to cultural and creative re-use. Special prizes were also awarded for the best use of colour, small project of the year, best use of natural light, visualisation and others.

Format

WAF

All shortlisted practices present their projects live in front of a panel of judges and festival delegates. The unique live presentation process, similar to a crit, allows for discussion and feedback, helping practices to develop an international network and gain international press coverage.

2024 entry information

The next edition returns to Singapore on 6-8 November 2024. Entries are open for WAF 2024, with 44 categories to choose from. Project entries are permanently listed on the World Buildings Directory, with a full description and images. The closing date is 28 March 2024 (early bird) and the final deadline is 19 April 2024.

Issue: Why WAF?

Solution: The global exposure gives practices an invaluable international network to seek advice from, partner with and win work from. See the 2023 overall winning projects here and here, and be inspired to submit your project for WAF2024.
