Many of you probably have some of these old basic bar stools. Jazz them up with some bright coloured paint and gold spray paint!

Supplies:

  • Bar stools (sanded)
  • Coloured Paint
  • Gold spray paint
  • Cardboard
  • Masking Tape
  • Carpet/craft Knife
  • Large pieces of craft paper
  • Varnish

Step 1:
After you’ve painted the bar stool the color of your choice and let it fully dry, wrap the stool legs in the craft paper.  Then spray the top of the stool with the gold spray paint.

Step 2:
After you’ve sprayed the top in a few coats and let it dry, flip the stool over.  Measure the spot where you want the gold dip to stop and tape it.  Repeat the same with all the legs so they will all be uniform. The next part is important:  Cut out a square of cardboard about 10×10.  Then trace the leg in the middle of the cardboard and cut it out with the knife.  Slide the leg down the hole and then you can spray without worrying about your spray paint getting on anything else.  But you must let the spray paint dry fully before taking off the cardboard or else it will smear the paint.  Repeat with all the legs.

Step 3:
Seal your stools with varnish. And done!
