Over the past few months, FLOORS in Africa and WALLS & ROOFS magazines hosted four DAS (Design, Architecture, Specifiers) conferences across the country. A variety of guest speakers, including Vaughan Harris, Founder of the BIM Institute, Jacques van Embden, Managing Director of BLOK, Tarynn Landman, architect at SVA International and Theresa Hardman architect, artist and designer at Art and Design Studio, among others, gave fantastic presentations at the events.
Besides the networking opportunities, exhibition stands and presentations by product manufacturers, attendees had the opportunity to win fantastic prizes. Here is a rundown of the winners at the recent events:
Durban competition winners
Peter Oravecs from Pod Studio won a Ciro Coffee machine because he was the first person to book his ticket for the event. Ashveer Nundhlall from Designscape Architects won a Nespresso coffee machine in a lucky draw and Desigscape Architects won a lunch on Media in Africa because they were the firm to book the most DAS tickets. FloorworX won the best exhibition stand, as voted by the attendees.
Cape Town winners
Paul Hopkinson from Blue Dot Development won a Nespresso machine because he was the first person to book a ticket for the Cape Town event. Jenny Mills from Jenny Mills Architects won a coffee table book for the most social media interaction at the event, Mohamed Harnaker won a drone in the lucky draw and Studio Masson won the best exhibition stand, as voted by the attendees.
